When you visit Hawkeye Corrugated Box Co., you will notice the apple orchard next to our plant. When the business was established in 1967, the orchard had reached maturity, and many of the trees were dying. The late Stanley W. Bittner, founder, decided to replant the orchard and included many apple varieties to suit all of the employees' tastes.
In a sense, that is how we approach the packaging business. When our customers' packaging has reached maturity in the marketplace, we plant a crop of new ideas, providing a variety of solutions to suit their needs.
In 1997, Scott Bittner, President, purchased Hawkeye from his father and embarked on a comprehensive program of reinvestment into the company. Several million dollars of new equipment and captial improvements have ensured the highest standards of quality, efficiency and innovation in the industry.
